Dell customers demanding Linux loaded machines
Dell recently launched their IdeaStorm web initiative to ask user feedback on what they wanted from the company.
The initial demands are not very surprising as most users have asked the company to launch Linux pre-loaded machines.
Dell had launched this service to collect users’ feedback and improve customer service. Dell spokeswoman Caroline Dietz said in a statement that the company executives and department heads have been monitoring the site.
Some other demands made by the web users include computers which come loaded with just operating system and no additional utilities. Dell has collaboration with companies which results in them preloading these applications on their products.
Another demand is that the company starts offering alternative products like Mozilla Firefox browser and OpenOffice on their products.
Yet another interesting demand is that the company stops outsourcing customer support to countries like India.
However, company representatives have clarified that just because an idea is number one or number two doesn’t necessarily mean Dell will do it. There you go!
