Avaya to add its IP Office product to Google Apps Premiere Edition

Avaya has said in a statement that it plans to develop communications solutions for small businesses. This would combine the upcoming Google Apps Premier Edition suite of Web applications with their IP telephony technology.

They plan to offer this combined solution to its network of resellers and distributors. Avaya aims to launch it in the market by the end of the year.

Google Apps Premiere Edition costs USD 50 per user per year and includes word processing and spreadsheet applications, calendar, e-mail, instant messaging. Interestingly, Google Talk application already has VoIP capabilities.

Avaya said that they are aiming at tight integration of its VoIP technology with platforms like Google Talk. This would provide their customers a single in-box for voice, e-mail, IM, and faxes. They are already working with the search engine giant to build the functionality.
