Google enhances Chinese edition of Google Search Engine
Search engine company Google has added some new features to their Chinese edition as they aim to challenge the domination of Baidu.com in this market.
Google dominates the world’s search engine market but are a relatively smaller player in china.
They had launched their Chinese edition search engine at Google.cn last year. The launch was criticized in the market as the company admitted to have censored the results as per the requirements of the Chinese government.
Looks like most Chinese users still prefer to use the primary Google search engine located at Google.com which already shows the Chinese language web pages.
Google has now added new features to the Chinese version of the search engine. Users can now search Chinese Web sites using Pinyin. This would enable the users to search using Chinese without having to switch from English to Chinese input systems.
Google.cn also now features auto-complete compatibility which is similar to the Google Suggest service.
