AOL considering acquiring mobile phone advertising company Third Screen Media

Media group Wall Street Journal has reported in a news item that the tech company AOL is trying to acquire the mobile phone advertising start-up Third Screen Media.

The news report cited people familiar with the ongoing talks between the two companies.

The company specializes in posting advertising on the mobile platforms. And the deal is expected to cost AOL around $80 million.

The WSJ however stated that the talks could fall and the deal might not eventually happen.

Interestingly, Microsoft’s MSN division has already tried in the past to acquire them but failed. Third Screen Media had then stated that they were looking for additional funding to expand its mobile advertising business and they were not interested in selling off their operations.
