Web Shows: Comedy Central to bring web programming to television

Comedy Central has announced their plans to bring original web based programming to their late-night television viewers.

These shows would be presented under a new series named Web Shows. This series would be based on half-hour weekly shows.

These would be broadcasted on the television at 2 a.m. ET/PT and premiere Monday. The programming would include animation, live-action narrative and comedy programming from Motherload which is the Comedy Central’s Web site.

They are also likely to feature content provided by AtomFilms. This would include the webisode “The Punk Group: Fat Girls on Bicycles”.

Lou Wallach, senior VP original programming and development at Comedy Central added in a statement that these shows would be made up of eight or nine 2- to 3-minute shorts.
