Google to open a research and development center in Singapore
Search engine giant Google has stated their plans to setup a research and development center in Singapore. This would be the company’s first such center in the Southeast Asian region.
The US based tech giant said that they chose Singapore because of its “very vibrant” info-communications and technology environment.
The news was reported by the The Straits Times which quoted the company’s Southeast Asia managing director of sales and operations Richard Kimber.
Singapore is one of the highly networked nations in the South East Asian region and the government has shown their keenness to invite high tech companies to invest in the region.
