Apple iPhone on track for June launch
Apple showcased their iPhone mobile phone product last month. The media has been awaiting the launch which is currently scheduled for June this year.
However, the company has just announced a slight delay in the launch of their other much awaited product Apple TV.
Apple TV is now due to ship starting sometime next month. It was originally supposed to be sold starting in February.
The company’s chief operating officer, Tim Cook has however said in a statement that the iPhone is on track to release in June.
Apple has plans to sell 10 million of the long-awaited mobile-phone devices in 2008. Cook added about the possible harm on the sales of their iPod range of players due the launch of iPhone: iPod “is being sold for a wide variety of uses. We’ll see what happens.”
The company has sold around 90 million iPods in the markets around the world since its launch in 2001.
