Google Maps now provide instant traffic information
Google has added a new feature to their Google Maps web service. The maps now come with instant traffic information for more than 30 major cities in the United States.
This new feature addition is applicable for cities including San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and others.
Web users would be able to check out the local traffic situation on the Google Maps. With this, they could plan their routes accordingly.
Interestingly, rival services from Microsoft and Yahoo! already has such a mechanism in place on their map services.
The traffic situation on the maps is represented with red, yellow, and green overlays that show the speed at which traffic is moving. Green means that the traffic is moving well. Yellow means that the traffic is moving slowly. Red represents that the traffic is bad.
Google already had this feature enabled on their mobile map service.
