Atlantis being moved back to hanger for repairs
NASA has confirmed that they are moving back the Space Shuttle Atlantis to hanger for repairs after a freak hailstorm damaged the spaceship’s fuel tank last week.
The Atlantis was removed from its seaside launch pad on Sunday.
The launch was scheduled for March 15 but it is not postponed. This was supposed to be first of the five missions which NASA had planned to the International Space Station this year.
NASA added that if the damage is more than what they expect, they could possibly replace Atlantis’ tank with one being prepared for the next shuttle mission. Shuttle’s next mission is currently scheduled for June this year.
