Creative Zen Looks like a Mobile

Well, if there were any pointers to the possible future integration of two of the most popular handheld gadgets, it certainly would be the new Creative Zen Micro 5GB music player. It steals the style from the iPod and shape from the mobile handsets.

It does not however functions like a mobile handset, which would bring some relief to the Apple guys. However, it might just be the beginning of the evolution of what any teen would want today. A single device integrating the facilities provided by a mobile and a digital music player into one unit. I have seen mobiles with MP3 playing ability… but the battery time is awful to consider the device as a music player.

It is not as compact as the iPod but manages to give a solid feel. And it does FM Radio along with synchronization with Microsoft Outlook to share Contacts and diary entries. The UI looks similar to iPods in the first view but is distinct enough to not alert Apple guys. And it does provide voice-recording facility. The batteries are replaceable which is a big advantage over iPod. Critics call it the best version of Creative Zen to appear until now! But time will tell if it creates any buzz in the market. Creative are really working on to knock off Apple iPod from the podium…

Good for the consumer. More competition would keep Apple on their toes.
