Renault to launch updated Logan in Brazil

Renault has revealed that they would be launching the new version of their Logan sedan in Brazil later this year. Interestingly, this launch would take place before the car is launched in the European markets next year.

Dacia head Luc-Alexandre Menard said in a statement: “The next model will be launched in Brazil, that is a decision by Mr. Ghosn.”

The company is also due to launch the car in India this year. Menard has been heading the Logan project ever since Renault decided to launch a low-cost car for the emerging markets in the world.

Interestingly, the car originally designed for the emerging countries has become quite popular in developed European nations as well.

Menard added on Logan: “On the one hand we had customers in emerging countries who said that they were pleased with a brand new model but wondered why we did not sell it in Europe, and on the other hand we were selling it in east Europe, in Poland, and that was part of the European Union, so a dealer in Warsaw could, in theory, set up a Dacia showroom on the Champs Elysees.”
