Tata Motors Rs. 1 lakh car to have a 600cc engine
Tata Motors is working hard on fulfilling the dream project of their leader Ratan Tata. The company has plans to launch their Rs. 1 lakh car in the Indian market by next year.
Mr. Tata said in a statement that this upcoming car would be the first World Car made in the Indian market. He said: “We are sure of launching the car in 2008. It will sport a 600cc engine. The engine will be fitted on the rear. The car is virtually ready and is now in various testing modes. It will meet international standards on emission, crash tests and the like.”
He was speaking with the auto journalists from around the world at the Geneva Motor Show.
Tata added on this car: “The wind shield will drop down in the front and it will sport a steel body. The base model will be non-AC, and there will be several variants.”
He further said: “Once it is ready and launched, it will be the cheapest car in the world. It is bound to push us (Tata Group) into a different paradigm in the global market. The car is bound to eat into high end two wheelers and low end cars. A new segment will be created when the car is launched.”
Tata added that the car would be primarily sold in the Indian market but they would consider exporting it to international markets like Malaysia, Indonesia and some parts of Africa.

i think tata is good reputed name in india if tata is compromise in one lakh rs. car than his good will is down because costumer need good thing with low price if the car
failer than tatas good will down and as per my opinion i suggest few points for new car.
1. minimum c.c. of the car is need 800 c.c. ( as per maruti 800 cc.)
2. chiness parts are not available all places and no gaurantee of chinees parts.
3.minimum 5-6 seatter need all peoples
4.c.n..g and a.c. facility require in this car
5.i want to buy this car if the car same as per maruti 800 c.c and better than maruti 800 c.c
you have done a great job by announcing this car which will help for middle class families those who are using two wheelers. i hope u will provide better service for the customers like me .thank u
