High Tech Computer wants S710 to be the first Windows Mobile 6 handset out in the market
Taiwanese handset maker High Tech Computer has said that they are working hard on ensuring that they release the first mobile device to be powered by the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 edition.
The company had showcased their S710 at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona. This could potentially become the first Windows Mobile 6 powered PDA in the world.
However, they could be beaten in the race by South Korean tech giant Samsung which is due to release their own Windows Mobile 6 powered devices.
Windows Mobile 6 features improved direct e-mail push technology which would take on the Research in Motion’s Blackberry device and software solutions.
HTC hopes to ship the S710 handset to Europe in the first quarter. The device features a numeric keypad and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It comes loaded with a 2.4-inch color TFT-LCD screen.
