Hyundai India to launch Getz Prime and Getz CRDI
Hyundai India has just lost their second position in the Indian auto market to Tata Motors. Their Verna sedan is not selling well and the Maruti Swift has totally demolished the sales of their Getz car.
The company is however working hard on making a comeback here in India. The company is now planning to launch a new version of its premium hatchback ‘Getz’ under a new name ‘Getz Prime‘.
This new model is expected to be available in the retail market by the end of the current month.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd Managing Director H S Lheem spoke about this new development: “This model will be both for exports and domestic market. While it will retain the name ‘Getz’ for exports to the European market, we will launch it as ‘Getz Prime’ in the domestic market.”
Interestingly, this model would be available in 2 petrol engine options. The 1.1 liter version would be quite cheap as it would benefit from the government’s policies on small cars. The other version would be powered with a 1.3 liter engine.
The company also has plans to launch a diesel model of the Getz model by the end of the year. The car would be powered with a 1.5 liter common rail direct injection (CRDi) engine and is likely to be priced competitively compared to the Swift Diesel which is already on sale in India.

Dear Rajesh,
Why are you making such negative comments about Hyundai position in India.
Hyundai has not lost to tata motors yet. See the Feb sales. Its just two months into new year and you are already claiming Hyundai lost 2nd position to Tata.
Verna has seen good sales in Feb. C segment is so cramped that, no new car can sell like crazy. Verna,Honda City, and Fiesta have very much comparable sales.
Such statements would mislead lot of readers.
Please be cautious about these things before writing such things. SOme time many of us are feeling you are totally baised and who knows what the lobby is !!

hyundai has to launch some exciting products to do well in the country now that the competition is getting hotter and hotter.

I totally agree with you Sushubh.
And moreover, Hyundai has improve its every aspect of marketing of its products.
Maruti and few others does a great job at it but not Hyundai.
And many lobbies by comapnies,media etc to capture sentiments of people and corner the competitor is something which common buyer would never no.
Anyway Exciting products is a must.

Hyundai till now stands for its quality. Dont compare sales volume of companies within first quarter of the year. Sales is different from quality……….It totally depends on the people mind……..Can you cannot compare cab to a family car?

When will Hyundai Launches Getz CRDI… Wen all other companies will sell their products is there any news …???? of your Getz CRDi… your compititor is coming with their new or say upgraded version like Swift Ford Fusion, Scoda’s Fabia.. ???
