Sanyo latest to launch digital cameras in India
The market for digital cameras in India is growing fast. This has resulted in many new players entering the market. The latest one of these is Sanyo.
The Japanese consumer electronics major has announced the launch of their digital camera products in the Indian market.
Sanyo has arrived with the launch of two 6 megapixel models. These are E60 (with a 3 inch LCD screen) and S-60 (with a 2.5 inch LCD screen). These two products have been priced at Rs 15,990 and Rs 10,990 respectively.
The company also has plans to launch eight more models of digital still and video handycams priced between Rs 8,990 to Rs 59,990 in three to four months in the Indian market.
Sanyo India President Keiji Oshima spoke on these plans for India: “We estimate the size of digital camera business in India at around 5 lakh units and expect it to grow further rapidly in the next two years. We intend to further increase our global business success in cameras by offering most technologically advanced products in India. We see immense growth opportunities in the country and have big plans to make India one of our pillars for growth.”
