SCO Web site gets hacked
I have had personal experiences of sites getting hacked. But when sites of major companies like SCO are hacked and that too multiple times in a short duration of time, it makes news. SCO has already been in controversies and news in the recent times due to their claims of owning parts of Linux. And they have been attacked in the past.
But today would have been pretty embarrassing for them. The primary homepages of the website were altered to showcase image that said: “We own all your code. Pay us all your money.†The banner matched the outlook of the website making it look like a genuine placement. However, a close look at the image displayed the hacker’s signature, which said: ‘hacked by realloc(‘
They are already disliked in the open source community for their statements on the Linux Operating System and multi-billion dollar lawsuits filed on IBM over trade secrets and unfair competition do not make it easier for them.
SCO says they have addressed the security issues on their network to prevent future hacking incidents…
