Google launches Hindi tools on News and Blogger
Google is getting indianized with tools launched to support Hindi language on both News and Blogger services. The company has launched Google News in Hindi and has also added Hindi transliteration on Blogger.
The company said that these two new services would benefit the Indian web user who is more comfortable with the Hindi language.
The Hindi transliteration service on Blogger would enable bloggers to write content in Hindi language with their regular keyboards.
Users would be allowed to switch between English and Hindi for ease of use.
Google’s News service in Hindi language gathers news stories from various Hindi news sources and presents a ranked one page view with links to user’s favorite news sources in their favorite news sections.
Prasad Ram, Center Head, Google India R&D spoke on these new developments: “Google is committed to promoting the creation and consumption of content in Indian languages and we’re proud to launch our first Indian language edition for Google News and Blogger. These launches will enable our Hindi-speaking users to express themselves better and access information in a language they are comfortable with. Google search is already available in Indian languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil and Marathi. We had also recently launched the Google Toolbar search bar in Hindi. At Google we know that more information means more choice, more freedom and ultimately more power for people.”
