Lenovo machines to feature Microsoft Live Search
Software giant Microsoft has collaborated with Chinese PC manufacturer Lenovo. Lenovo would now ship their computers loaded with Microsoft Live Search tools.
This new Microsoft deal replaces an old deal Lenovo had with the search engine giant Google. This could be seen as a minor victory for Microsoft as they challenge Google in the search engine space.
Microsoft added that this deal signed on with Lenovo is exclusive for several years. The two companies have not revealed the financial aspects of the deal signed on between them.
Google now has a similar deal with Dell Computers while Hewlett Packard ships their computers with Yahoo! products.
Lenovo said in a statement that they chose Microsoft for this service as they wanted to provide an Internet startup page that highlighted Lenovo’s products while allowing users to tweak the page based on their interests.
