Yahoo! to launch Chinese version of Flickr
Internet Company Yahoo! has said that they are working on a Chinese language Flickr service to cater to the needs of the web users from the second largest internet market in the world.
This announcement comes at a time when Yahoo is trying hard to localize their services including Del.icio.us, Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Groups to cater to a wider audience.
A company spokesperson said in a statement: “The HK traditional Chinese interface of Flickr will be available later this year.”
This upcoming web service would also focus on other similar markets like the Taiwan. Market analysts suggest that the company last year had a 9 percent share of China’s online photo-sharing market.
In other news, Yahoo! has just added some new innovative features for their regular Flickr members.
