Dell offer first personal computer with 1 TB of storage space
Dell Inc. has become the first major personal computer vendor to offer a personal computer with 1 TB of storage space.
The company is targeting these machines at consumers who require this high storage space for storing digital media and other stuff.
They are loading these machines with the Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Deskstar 7K100 drive. Dell’s vice president, Neil Hand spoke about this new offer: “This type of capability used to be available only to the largest corporations. With the spectacular advancement in hard drives and the engineering in our systems, we’re now able to bring it to consumers.”
The first machines to offer this much storage capacity would be delivered by Dell’s Alienware-branded gaming PCs. Dell would also offer similar storage capacities on their XPS range of high end machines.
