Honda Civic: Indian Car Of The Year 2007 (ICOTY 2007 award)
Japanese automaker Honda indeed makes some of the most awesome cars. They have an impressive lineup in India in the form of Honda City, Honda Civic, Honda Accord and the Honda CRV.
The latest news is that their Honda Civic car in India has won the Indian Car Of The Year Award for 2007.
The jury consisted of ten senior journalists representing five automotive magazines. It managed to overcome competition from nine other new cars launched in the Indian market.
The cars in the competition included: Maruti Suzuki Zen Estilo, Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, Honda Civic, Hyundai Verna, Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Lancer Cedia and the Toyota Camry.
The ratings given by them jury members was validated by the PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Honda secured the top two positions with their Civic and CRV models.
Hyundai secured the third spot with their Verna sedan. GM took the fourth spot with their U-VA premium hatchback.
The ICOTY 2007 award was presented to Masahiro Takedagawa, CEO of Honda Siel Cars India, by A K Bajoria, president, JK Tyre.
