LifeBook P1610 & B6210: Fujitsu now selling flash memory based notebooks
Fujitsu Computer Systems has announced that they are adding two new models to their notebook lineup. These two new products come with an offer of solid state flash memory storage drives.
This makes these laptops suitable for use in extreme conditions and in applications like health care and aviation.
The company is offering this optional flash memory package on their LifeBook P1610 and B6210 models. Both of these models are touchscreen capable and ultra portable.
Fujitsu added that these laptops are also available with regular hard disks option. Interestingly, they have been offering similar flash memory based notebook products in the Japanese market since sometime. This new announcement brings these notebooks to the North American market.
A company spokesperson said that the flash memory powered notebooks offer features like reduced power consumption, lower latency with data traffic, faster boot times, and reduced noise, heat and weight. However, they would add quite a bit to the price of the end product.
