Google offering skins on personal homepage
Search engine giant Google is popular for their basic design homepages. But the company is changing that by offering skins to their personal homepage service users.
This is the age of personalization and people today are accustomed to change everything on their mobiles to computers to even web services.
Now, Google is allowing web users to have customized homepages on the Google Personal homepage. They are currently providing seven themes including: Classic, Beach, Bus Stop, City Scape, Sweet Dreams, Tea House and Seasonal Scape.
Marissa Mayer, the company’s vice president of search products and user experience said in a statement on this new development: “Google has become the doorway to the Internet for a lot of people, so we want to make (the site) feel more like an online living room. We feel we are personalizing things in a very tasteful and useable way.”
The service also allows users to enter their ZIP Code for location purposes so that these themes change and update as per the local weather conditions of the regions. Google added that the themes come with their own “Easter eggs” that will open up with an opportune click at the right time of the day.
