Google now offering Pay per Action advertising

Search engine giant Google happens to be one of the biggest players in the online advertising market. The company is now offering Pay per Action form of advertising to their advertisers.

The company is more popular for their Pay per Click form of advertising. This new program would solve the problem related to Click Fraud for many of their advertisers as the visitor clicking on the advertising would be required to perform an action to complete the process.

Rob Kniaz, a product manager for Pay-Per-Action said in the company’s blog: “Pay-per-action advertising is a new pricing model that allows you to pay only for completed actions that you define, such as a lead, a sale, or a page view, after a user has clicked on your ad on a publisher’s site. You’ll define an action, set up conversion tracking, and create ads that publishers in the Google content network can then choose to place in new ad units on their site.”

The Google AdSense publishers would get an option to run specific PPA ads or to let Google choose the best possible scenario for their websites. Web publishers would get to choose the PPA ads by product name, description, logo, and designated actions.

The program is currently available only in the US market though the company expects to expand it to other markets in the coming months.
