U-verse OnTheGo: AT&T to support live programming on personal computers
US based telecom giant AT&T has said that they are now going to allow customers to use its U-verse Internet Protocol television service to watch live programming on their PCs.
This service has till now been a rival to traditional cable and satellite companies. However, their latest service offering named U-verse OnTheGo would let them offer television programming to computers owned by their subscribers.
Some of the channels in this service to feature live programming would include The Weather Channel and Bloomberg Television.
AT&T is currently offering a test version of this service to their customers for a period of 14 days. The service in its current form features a lineup of slightly fewer than 30 channels and requires a prior subscription to the U-verse IPTV service.
They plan to charge an extra USD 10 for this service. However, they are only going to support Windows XP operating system with Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
