Hyundai India to launch CNG version of Santro

Maruti is selling their recently launched Zen Estilo car in big numbers. This means that rivals Hyundai have to rethink their strategy with their Santro car.

Maruti is already selling an LPG edition of their Wagon R car. Hyundai India has now announced their plans to launch a CNG version of their Santro Hatchback model by next year.

Hyundai Santro CNG would come with a factory fitted CNG kit and the option of a second fuel (petrol). They would be manufacturing this car at their existing plant in Chennai.

The company has also now started exporting their ‘Getz Prime’ to the European market. This is the third car to be exported by the company from their Indian plants. Hyundai India is already exporting the Santro and Accent models.

Hyundai is also due to launch a new small car in the Indian market to complement Santro.
