Motorola launches MC35 Windows Mobile PDA
Motorola has launched a new PDA device powered by Windows Mobile platform. The Motorola MC35 would be affordable device developed by Symbol which was recently acquired by Motorola.
Motorola said that the device has been designed to survive drop and tumble tests and can be managed remotely with other Symbol handhelds.
They would support the device for a period of five years. And customers would be able to buy service contracts in three-year blocks.
Sheldon Safir, director of product marketing for Motorola’s Enterprise Mobile Computing (EMC) group even went ahead to say: “You break it, we’ll fix it.”
The company added that this product has been designed for field sales workers and it runs the Windows Mobile 5.0 OS. It is powered with the Marvell 416-MHz PXA 270 processor and supports quad-band GSM phone with EDGE in addition to 802.11 b/g networks. It also supports VoIP but does not include any application for this functionality.
Motorola MC35 also comes equipped with a two-megapixel camera which can also be used as a bar code reader. It also has GPS functionality with support for Telenav navigation software. It would be sold for a price between $640 to $765.
