Sony Ericsson W580 Walkman Phone comes with a Pedometer

Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson has launched their latest Walkman branded mobile phone product W580. The company said that this new phone would go on sale in select markets starting in the third calendar quarter of 2007.

The company did not reveal the price of this phone as it is likely to be sold through mobile carriers with a contract.

The Sony Ericsson Walkman W580 mobile phone features a sleek, 14mm-thick candybar shape. It comes with a slider which gives the user access to the keypad. The phone comes loaded with a 2.0 megapixel digital camera equipped with flash.

The phone would ship with a stereo headset and would include 512MB of internal memory. It supports Memory Stick Micro (M2) card slot and is mass storage compatible. The phone also comes loaded with a built-in pedometer and has the ability to monitor running speed and performance.

Sony added that the device features music recognition capabilities, built-in blogging capabilities and video clip support. It also has support for Bluetooth, RSS newsreader and Web browser access, e-mail, MMS and other features.
