PayPal asking support from popular email service providers
EBay owned online payment service PayPal has said that they are trying to interact with popular email service providers so as to stop the delivery of fake PayPal related email messages.
The company wants them to block any message which appears to be originating from PayPal but lacks digital signatures. Joseph E. Sullivan, PayPal’s associate general counsel said in a statement that they are yet to reach any kind of agreement with any company but they are looking forward to it.
PayPal is already using several technologies to digitally sign its e-mails now. They are using Yahoo developed DomainKeys which enables verification of the sender and integrity of the message that’s sent.
The company is one of the most targeted online services in phishing scandals considering people are easily fooled into revealing their PayPal account details which are later used to conduct transactions from other people’s accounts.
