Intel and Pepsi to advertise on MTV Networks Mobile
Media giants Viacom have announced that their MTV division has signed two big advertising contracts from Intel and Pepsi.
These two companies would be advertising on its programs delivered on cell phones. Viacom Chief Executive Philippe Dauman confirmed these two deals at the ongoing CTIA wireless showcase in Orlando, Florida.
Media companies are expecting mobile television to give them an additional source of revenue as it gains popularity around the world.
Dauman spoke during his speech: “We believe advertising can work on the wireless platform. Indeed we view it as a critical medium.”
He claimed that their network delivers around 1 million video streams to mobile phones every month. The company added that they are now planning to launch new mobile Web sites for its Nickelodeon, Spike TV and TV Land channels.
