Advertising.com to manage upcoming video service from News Corp. and NBC Universal

Time Warner’s internet division AOL has said that their Advertising.com unit would be managing the upcoming video sharing service being developed by media industry giants News Corp. and NBC Universal.

The two media giants had announced last week that they were going to launch a free site featuring full-length movies and television shows. This would take on the current market leader Google owned YouTube.com.

News Corp and NBC Universal announced that they have signed up three of Google’s largest rivals for the distribution of their service and managing the advertising.

AOL said in a statement that they would be managing advertising for the new site along with the ads which would be inserted inside the video clips hosted on the service.

Overall, a major step taken by the media industry giants to take on the domination of Google in the advertising market.
