Technorati: Japanese now the most prolific bloggers

Blog searching service Technorati has come out with their latest “State of the Live Web” report. The company claims that there are more than 72 million blogs out on the web and the Japanese are the prolific posters.

English and Chinese language blogs come second. Technorati added that Iran’s Farsi language is also gaining in the blogging world as people from the politically repressed countries are looking forward to expressing themselves.

Technorati further claimed that new blogs are being created at a rate of 120,000 daily, or three every two seconds. David Sifry, Technorati’s founder said that the blogosphere is now doubling at least once per year. Sometime back, the blogging growth led to the size doubling every six months.

However, the service added that the reports are not exactly accurate considering they are unable to track certain blogging services which do not ping their servers. French blogging service Skyblog is one of these. Some major Chinese blogging services are also known to remain elusive.
