AOL launches AOL Search Marketplace for advertisers

AOL has announced the launch of their AOL Search Marketplace service for advertisers. This is a new paid search service which is powered with Google’s technology to enable advertisers to better target AOL users.

This new service is a result of the AOL’s deal with Google which saw the search engine giant acquiring a $1 billion stake in AOL.

AOL Search Marketplace would enable the advertisers on AOL to target advertisements more effectively. AOL Media Networks President Mike Kelly spoke about this new service: “If I’ve got a relationship with a big marketer and half of their interactive ad spending is going toward something I don’t offer (search advertising), I’m going to want to acquire that capability.”

AOL added that the offer is still not open for advertising on the AOL Video search service yet but it is likely to be added in the near future.
