Dell gets Philips order

Philips might have started selling PCs again, but they are still outsourcing their internal PC needs. And Dell is the lucky one to get the deal worth around USD 700 millions!

The deal incorporates sale of Dell OptiPlex desktop computers, Precision workstations, and Latitude notebooks. In addition, Dell would also provide managed services for almost 75,000 Philips employees in 60 countries.

This enables Philips to standardize their internal network and provide the flexibility of working from anywhere to their employees. This comes after Dell managed to get a similar kind of deal out of Honeywell’s European offices.

This successful venture is a fruit of Dell’s efforts in getting their service capabilities in management tools and products refined making them more lucrative to the market.
