Intel launches Core 2 Extreme QX6800 quad-core processor
Intel has launched a brand new processor named Core 2 Extreme QX6800. The processor is a quad core chip and has been designed for the diehard desktop gamers.
The Core 2 Extreme QX6800 runs at 2.93GHz which features the fastest speed yet of the 12 designs of quad-core processors released by Intel yet.
Intel said that the processor is a perfect fit for desktop gamers and digital designers. Eric Kim, senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s Digital Home Group added in a statement that this higher end processor would also reduce waiting time for high-definition media editing jobs such as video encoding.
The company last week launched two low-power versions of its Core 2 Duo processor, the U7600 and U7500 chips. The competition with AMD has resulted in both the companies launching newer products pretty regularly to keep the customer happy.

So….who needs a new Intel Core 2 Duo QX6800?
Like – what is this need for speed?
Everybody knows, you don’t need any more speed than AMD’s fastest CPU.
Until we at AMD can make a faster CPU – like our upcoming Barfaroma Quad Core processor.
And that’s the facts.
