Apple has now sold more than 100 million iPods
No one doubts the popularity of iPods in the world markets. You can find people connected to these tiny music players in any part of the world.
Apple has already sold billions of songs on their Apple iTunes media store. The company has now confirmed that they have now sold their 100 millionth iPod in the market.
This makes the iPod the fastest selling music player in history. The device was launched just around five and a half years ago. It has helped Apple turn around their fortunes. The market has seen more than 10 versions of the iPod including the Shuffle, nano, mini and the Video version.
Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO spoke on this historic occasion: “At this historic milestone, we want to thank music lovers everywhere for making iPod such an incredible success. iPod has helped millions of people around the world rekindle their passion for music, and we’re thrilled to be a part of that.”
Mary J. Blige, GRAMMY Award-winning singer added: “It’s hard to remember what I did before the iPod. iPod is more than just a music player, it’s an extension of your personality and a great way to take your favorite music with you everywhere you go.”
John Mayer, GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist chips in: “Without the iPod, the digital music age would have been defined by files and folders instead of songs and albums. Though the medium of music has changed, the iPod experience has kept the spirit of what it means to be a music lover alive.”
Lance Armstrong, seven-time Tour de France champion is another Apple iPod fan: “I take my running shoes and my iPod with me everywhere. I listen to music when I run. Having my music with me is really motivating.”
A whole industry based on iPod accessories depend upon Apple and their ability to sell the iPod in the market. This really is fabulous.
