LG Electronics building a digital music player based on the New Beetle car
South Korean tech giant LG Electronics has announced that they are developing a digital media player styled on the Volkswagen’s new Beetle car.
The two companies are together working on this special edition music player. LG said that the player sports an aluminum body and will be available in three of the same colors as the car: Salsa Red, Shadow Blue and Sunflower Yellow.
The company further said that they took the inspiration from the legendary car to design the user interface for this player.
The digital music player also has a small VW badge on the front panel and a New Beetle logo on its rear. The overall shape of the player is similar to other devices in the market. Luckily they did not design it to ‘look’ like the Beetle!
LG’s Beetle based player features a 2.4-inch color LCD (liquid crystal display) screen and can play MPEG-4, Windows Media Video 9, MP3, Windows Media Audio and Ogg-format files. It would be made available in two versions with 2GB and 4GB capacities.
