Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer movies coming to Apple iTunes
Apple iTunes database of movie offerings just got a bit bigger. The Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios has announced their deal with Apple which would see them offer more than 500 movies on the digital media store.
These would include classics like “Dances With Wolves,” “Mad Max,” and “Rocky” and many of their recent hits. Apple would start offering these movies in the coming weeks on iTunes.
They had started selling movies on the Apple iTunes in September. They began with Disney movies and since they the catalogue has grown quite extensive.
Paramount Pictures and Lionsgate Entertainment Corp are other two movie studios offering their movies on the Apple iTunes.
Eddie Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes said in a statement: “We’d love to have all the movie studios, that’s certainly our goal. I think it’s just a matter of time. Some just want to see how the marketplace develops first.”
Apple iTunes sell digital movies for USD 9.99 each. These can be played on the Apple iPod device and can be broadcasted on the television set using the Apple TV device.
