MySpace partially blocks Photobucket elements
Online social networking service MySpace.com has confirmed that they are now blocking some elements provided by the photo and video sharing service Photobucket.
MySpace.com has criticized Photobucket saying that they are encouraging their users to load ad-supported slideshows on their MySpace pages.
MySpace.com says that they are blocking both slideshows and videos powered by Photobucket technology. They are claiming that these elements are in violation of their policies banning unauthorized commercial activities.
Photobucket Chief Executive Alex Welch has accused MySpace of limiting their user’s right of free expression on their service. He said: “They’ve always been about self-expression, and now they are cutting users off from doing that.”
MySpace responded by saying that they encourage their users to embed third-party materials as long as they comply with the site’s terms of service.
