NASA aims to launch next space shuttle mission in June
US Space Agency NASA has said that they are targeting for the next Space Shuttle launch to take place in June this year.
They would be proceeding with this mission with their Atlantis Space Shuttle and it would be their first mission to space this year.
The launch schedule has been delayed by around 3 months as the NASA technicians are still working hard on fixing the hail-damaged fuel tank.
NASA said that the launch can now only take place after June 8. Bill Gerstenmaier, NASA’s associate administrator for space operations spoke on the progress of the Shuttle repairs: “We don’t see any showstoppers in front of us … but there is still a lot of work to be done.”
The space agency had originally planned to have 4 Space Shuttle missions this year but it seems unlikely now that they would be able to meet their goals.
