Nokia launches their N95 multimedia computer for USD 750

If you thought that the Apple iPhone was expensive, take a look at the new Nokia N95 mobile phone. Oops. Nokia does not call this product a mobile phone. Instead, the Nokia N95 has been labeled as an “all-in-one multimedia computer”.

Nokia launched their N95 in the US market last week and the company claims that the phone would compete with the Apple iPhone in usability and would offer more functionality.

The Nokia N95 comes loaded with a 5-megapixel camera along with a powerful media player, 3G networking over the Cingular/AT&T HSDPA system, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

It also features an innovative dual-slide design making it easier for the owner to operate it as per his requirement. The phone runs Symbian operating system.

The company claims that the US launch has been pretty successful with stores already reporting sellout orders. Apple iPhone would face a serious challenge from products like this because of the limitations like exclusivity to Cingular.

Apple iPhone would also not support e-mail synchronization with Microsoft Exchange which would make it pretty useless for most corporate users. Nokia can capture that section of the higher end market with their N95.

However, analysts are somewhat skeptic about these ultra expensive mobile phones considering they are priced similar to lower end notebooks.
