Toshiba USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive launched
Japanese consumer electronics maker Toshiba has announced the launch of their first portable hard drive product. With this they have now become the latest tech giant to enter this segment of the market which is growing at a fast pace.
Toshiba has launched their Toshiba USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive and it features hard disk in capacities ranging from 100 GB to 200 GB.
Market analysts believe that this is the largest capacity being offered yet in portable, compact form factor. These storage products are less than an inch thick and smaller than a 4-by-6-inch photo print.
Toshiba said that they have designed these products to be used as backup repository for computer documents, digital photos, videos or photos.
The company added that these drives are rugged enough to be carried on trips by the customers. These drives cost between USD 130 and USD 230.
