Comcast to be part of the News Corp, NBC video venture
Comcast Corp. has announced in a statement that they are now joining the recently launched online video venture by News Corp. and NBC Universal.
Comcast would be joining this new network both as a distributor and a content provider. This would help the network as it would get access to full-length movies and television shows.
Market analysts believe that this new venture has been started by the media companies to challenge the domination of Google’s YouTube service online.
The service already has received support from the other two online giants Microsoft and Yahoo in addition to AOL.
Comcast added in their statement that they would also be providing non-exclusive content from Comcast Networks including E!, Style, G4, Versus and Golf Channel.
