Chevrolet Spark launched for Rs 3.09 lakh in India
GM finally has launched the car the market was waiting for. The Chevrolet Spark has been launched in the Indian market and the price starts at just around Rs 3.09 lakh.
Amazingly, this is now likely to start a price war in the country as the price of Spark is around Rs 12,000 cheaper than its closest competitor Maruti Suzuki’s Zen Estilo.
GM has powered the Chevy Spark with a 1000cc engine and it is being made available in four different variants priced between Rs 3.09-3.89 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
General Motors Corp Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rick Wagoner had this to say at the occasion: “We have not been represented in the small car market in India and we want to increase our presence in this segment, which is the fastest growing segment in the country.”
Besides the Zen Estilo, Spark would also take on other models in the market including Hyundai Santro. GM currently has plans to sell between 2000-3000 units of Spark per month as they are still waiting for their new plant to start functioning.

Having been a great fan of the wonder car matiz for years, i have waited patiently since the news of spark first came out last year..and that for sure is going to be my first car..kudos GM for reviving the majestic beauty.
