Claim Your Content: Google all set to release copyright protection tool on YouTube
Google seems to be on a roll this month. They have just acquired the online advertising company DoubleClick. They are all set to add a presentation tool to their Google Docs application suite.
And now the company has announced that they are also closing in on launching their copyright protection tool on their YouTube video sharing service.
Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt said in a statement that this tool would allow media owners to automatically report acts of piracy on its YouTube video site.
The tool has been named ‘Claim Your Content’ and the company believes that it would solve all the legal hassles they have been facing with the pirated videos which are uploaded on their service.
Viacom is one of the major media companies which have filed a lawsuit against Google on the claims of copyright violation. Schmidt added: “As that product rolls out, the issue becomes moot. We are automating that process to claim that content.”
