Intel claims their Penryn chips are around 40% faster than current ones
Intel is on a roll. After getting snubbed by smaller rivals in the server processor market, Intel has made a smashing comeback and they are doing well.
The company has announced that their upcoming processors are going to be around 40% faster than current generation of chips.
These new chips are performance oriented processors aimed at people who play high end computer games, and work with video editing and other performance oriented tasks.
Intel is due to launch their new Penryn processors and these are going to be based on their current microprocessor architecture but would be manufactured using 45 nanometer technology.
Patrick Gelsinger, the general manager for Intel’s digital enterprise group added on these upcoming products from Intel: “In high-performance computing and bandwidth intensive applications … there will be up to a whopping 45 percent performance increase.”
