Apple and Cisco working on expanding the capabilities of iPhone
Apple and Cisco both have products named iPhone and they are currently working hard on getting them to work together as part of their agreement which saw Apple getting the rights to use the iPhone name for their mobile phone product.
Cisco Chief Development Officer Charlie Giancarlo said in a statement that they are exploring around half-dozen ways their products can work together.
Apple and Cisco are working together to make Apple’s iPhone compatible with Cisco’s business and consumer equipment. The Apple iPhone is currently scheduled for launch this coming June.
Cisco added that they also want the Apple iPhone to be capable of working with their corporate phone systems. Such a mechanism would enable the customers to get the same services, such as instant messaging and teleconferencing, on their Cisco desk phones and Apple iPhones.
