Nissan launches Teana Sedan for Rs 20.47 lakh in India
Japanese automaker Nissan has said that they want to expand their presence in India with a new compact car specially designed for such a market.
Nissan Motor India Managing Director, Yoshie Motohiro said in a statement: “To be competitive (in India) we have to have a presence in the compact and small car segment. We are very keen to enter the volume and low price segment.”
Nissan also launched their latest product in the Indian market in the form of a luxury sedan named Teana. The car has been priced at Rs 20.47 lakh.
They aim to manufacture their small car from the upcoming Chennai facility being setup in collaboration with Renault and Mahindra & Mahindra.
Motohiro added: “We have two more years before the Chennai plant goes onstream, during this period we are also looking at enhancing portfolio imported through the completely built-up unit route.”
Nissan already sells their X-Trail SUV in India and have dealers present in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
