Fujitsu and Cisco in a Hardware deal

Japanese computer maker Fujitsu has joined hands with Cisco to manufacture high-end routers and switches for the Japanese market. Cisco would be manufacturing the devices, which would be sold in Japan under a co-branded name. Fujitsu would be taking care of the software development part.

Cisco has been working hard in expanding its operations around the world. It tried with acquiring brands in the beginning of the year, which did not work well for it. This time they approached Fujitsu and this deal happened.

Japanese market has been a top priority for the networking giant Cisco and Fujitsu is working on increasing its revenue share in Japan. Thus, the deal benefits both the parties. Senior vice president of Cisco’s routing technology group Mike Volpi had this to say: “Cisco brings to the partnership its strength in networking products like routers and switches while Fujitsu brings its strength in IT (information technology), system and network integration as well as solutions”.

These devices should reach the market sometime next year…
