ISRO all set to launch its first commercial satellite Agile
Indian space agency ISRO has announced that they are all set to launch its first commercial satellite. They would be launching the Italian satellite named Agile tomorrow.
ISRO also revealed their other plans for the future. They are currently working with small manufacturers to develop an ‘Air Breathing Rocket’ since the last couple of years.
They aim to test it out sometime early next year. They are aiming to develop a rocket which uses the oxygen available in the atmosphere itself.
Regular rockets currently carry fuel and oxidizer which takes up a lot of space on the carrier vehicle itself.
ISRO said that the technology they are working on is quite complicated but once it’s developed it would be very cost effective.
BN Suresh, Director, VSSC added on their plans: ”If you really prove this technology, you don’t need to carry an oxidizer at all. So you are able to enhance the capability of your payloads as well as bring down the cost considerably. All over the world, space faring nations are attempting to move in this direction.”
